Happy Homeowners

TGIF! Hubby and I moved into our first house last Sunday and are so excited to be homeowners. I have to admit the day after the move – Monday – hubby went to work and I was left with an overwhelming feeling. We are responsible for this building. That is a scary thought. I like responsibilities – I thrive on them – but this is a responsibility so large that I’ve never experienced. And it’s daunting. Everyone warned us that the closing was going to be stressful. But it was anything but. We enjoyed it. We’ve wanted to buy a house for so long that was just on cloud 9. But a few days later, overwhelming set in. Now, almost a week later, I’m starting to feel a bit more comfortable in this house and the overwhelming feeling is starting to drift away. Yay for homeownership!
Other positive thoughts for today:
- Poping champagne tonight in order to officially celebrate our house purchase
- A great interview earlier in the week
- A teaching gig – and helping non writers learn that writing shouldn’t be difficult or scary
- Sunny days above 30 degrees
- Chirping birds, cardinals on the tree in the backyard
- Millions of stars you can see when you walk out the back door
- A puppy who can’t break out of her cage anymore – hopefully
- Fish Fry tonight!
- Wine tasting with good friends tomorrow
